Importing Pages onto Your Smart Board

I came across a handy little feature for importing pages directly to the Smart Board instead of saving files in document or pdf form! It is a timesaver for those of you who regularly use the Smart Board in your classroom.

Normally, you would save files (scanned images, word documents, pdf files) to your drive and insert them page by page into Notebook. Instead, choose the print feature and when you need to select a printer, choose Smart Notebook as your printer location. This will automatically copy and paste the pages onto a new Notebook file. However, if you already have a file open, it will copy and paste these pages into that file.

Try it out!

Sharing What Is Happening in Your Classroom

Here is a small sample of how you can share what is happening in your classroom with parents and students!

ELA - Interviews
In our unit, Voices through the Ages, we are learning about past lives and what better assignment than to interview a family member. Then we will collect pictures and other items to scan and using Movie Maker, we will create a lasting legacy on CD. I am so excited about these projects that I am doing one too!
Science - Heat and Temperature
We are almost done this unit. There are two labs left and then some preparation for our test. More details to follow!

Have a great day!

Voki

Voki is a site that allows you to create an avatar (on online cartoon) and record your voice. Imagine the possibilities in your own classroom ... give instructions to students, open a lesson with some fun trivia, use it when you have a sub ... and best of all, it's FUN!
